  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup cooked quinoa
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 burger buns
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, avocado, and your favorite sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork until mostly smooth.
  2. Add the cooked quinoa, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into 4 patties.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  5. Toast the burger buns on the grill or in the skillet.
  6. Assemble the burgers with your choice of toppings and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add chopped jalapeños to the mixture.
