Ingredients
Scale
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 cups crushed pretzels
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with crushed pretzels.
Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip in eggs, and then coat with crushed pretzels.
Place the coated chicken breasts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the coating is golden brown.
While the chicken is baking, prepare the cheddar sauce by combining milk, cheddar cheese, and Dijon mustard in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
Serve the pretzel chicken hot, drizzled with cheddar sauce.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in buttermilk for a few hours before breading.
Feel free to add spices to the pretzel coating for a kick.
This dish pairs well with a side of vegetables or a salad.
