  • 60 millilitres low sodium soy sauce
  • 30 millilitres water
  • 22 millilitres toasted sesame oil
  • 45 millilitres honey
  • 15 millilitres rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, finely grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch or arrowroot flour
  • 2 tablespoons plain flour
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 450680 grams boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into 24 centimetre pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 6 cups broccoli florets (approximately 2 heads)
  • 2 whole green onions, diced

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, water, sesame oil, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, sesame seeds, and cornstarch to create the sauce.
  2. In another bowl, mix the cornstarch or arrowroot flour, plain flour, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Coat the chicken pieces in the flour mixture.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Add the broccoli florets and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until tender.
  7. Pour the sauce over the chicken and broccoli, stirring to coat evenly.
  8. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  9. Garnish with diced green onions before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of honey based on your sweetness preference.
  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • Serve over rice or noodles for a complete meal.
