1 lb ground beef or lamb
1 cup carrots, diced
1 cup peas
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups mashed potatoes
1 cup Guinness beer
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
Add ground meat and cook until browned.
Stir in carrots, peas, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and Guinness. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper.
Transfer the meat mixture to a baking dish and spread the mashed potatoes on top.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, substitute ground meat with lentils or mushrooms.
Feel free to add other vegetables like corn or green beans.
