Ingredients
Scale
8 slices of bread
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup breadcrumbs
Oil for frying
Instructions
In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Spread the cream cheese mixture on 4 slices of bread.
Top with sliced strawberries and cover with the remaining slices of bread to form sandwiches.
Set up a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs.
Dip each sandwich first in flour, then in the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
Fry each sandwich until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
Serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar.
Notes
For a richer flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon to the cream cheese mixture.
Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to achieve a crispy texture.
These sandwiches are best served immediately after frying.
