Ingredients
Scale
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sourdough starter
1 cup warm water
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
Add the sourdough starter and olive oil to the yeast mixture and mix well.
Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a roll.
Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover, and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Let them cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For best results, use an active sourdough starter.
You can brush the rolls with melted butter after baking for extra flavor.
These rolls can be frozen after baking for later use.
