  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • Vanilla ice cream (for serving, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the diced apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Mix well.
  3. Place a portion of the apple mixture onto each tortilla and roll them up tightly.
  4. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the brown sugar, water, and vanilla extract, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
  5. Pour the brown sugar mixture over the rolled tortillas in a baking dish.
  6. If using, sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts on top.
